Yes.  Yes.  And Yes!  I Love What JT English Says about Making Theology Accessible in the Church

Recently JT English, Pastor of Training at the Village Church in Texas, sat down with Dan Darling of the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission (ERLC) to talk about something I LOVE to champion: Making theology accessible in the local church.

If you want to watch something that overlaps with A WHOLE LOT of what the Brookside Institute is about, take 7 min and watch the video.  (Please!)

Here are a few notes I was scrambling to type as I watched the video - these may pull you into watching, if you're still on the fence:
  • The local church is the domain of theology.  It’s where theology exists.  It’s were the proclamation that Jesus is Lord happens. We believe theology should exist in the local church at a robust level.  Not everyone can attend seminary - we want to make excellent theological education accessible to everyone.  (Looking for a bit more on this?  Click here.)
  • We have a faith once delivered to the saints.  Christians and churches have the obligation to raise people up in the historic Christian faith.
  • The response to the Village Institute has been great.  This is what people want.  People want theology - they want Bible, theology, robust spiritual formation.  (Feedback from Brookside Institute classes agrees with all this.  Check out what other people are saying about our classes by clicking here, and then following the "What Others Are Saying" about any of our classes.)
  • People who have a genuine faith in the Lord Jesus will always want to know more about him.  People are looking forward to digging deep.   (Looking for a bit more on this?  Click here.)
  • The world - even with all of its beauty - can also be disorienting.  The church, and specifically theological education, provides the opportunity to be re-oriented to truth, and what’s really real.
