What Others Are Saying

I love what Tim Wiebe is doing with the Brookside Institute! The locus of theological training is to be the local church. There is a wave of local churches reclaiming this stewardship — it is a movement of change. The Brookside Institute is helping set a pace and I strongly commend it to you."

Equipping believers for service and facilitating unity in the faith and in the knowledge of God (Ephesians 4:12-13) is a lost emphasis in much of evangelicalism today. I can think of no better opportunity to restore that emphasis than the Brookside Institute."

The Brookside Institute is an example of a community of believers becoming like the Bereans of Acts 17. “Now these were more noble-minded than those in Thessalonica, for they received the word with great eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see whether these things were so.” (Acts 17:11, NAU). Led by Director Tim Wiebe and capable teachers, the Brookside Institute encompasses the bedrock to establish a believer in the faith; the structure to motivate toward growth and service; and the vision of preparing disciples to be disciple-makers.
Few churches have the capacity to guide their people in substantial Christian education, staffing to rightly divide the Word of Truth, the idea of equipping for service and growth. I’ve admired the energy and expertise of Director Wiebe in pursuing this dream. I’m excited to see how the Brookside Institute will be a force for discipleship.

The domain of theology and training is the local church. For too long the local church has been satisfied with with allowing other organizations to be the primary vehicle for training and equipping our congregations. I love that the Brookside Institute is serious about theological education in the local church.

What we think about God, about our identity, about our future, about our purpose — all of these shape who we are and how we choose to live. And at root, these are all distinctly theological issues. As such, I commend the Brookside Institute to you as an important resource in helping Christians think carefully and accurately about the most important facets of the human experience.
