The Semester that Was: In Your Words

Fall 2014 classes have officially drawn to a close.  (Don't worry, though!  Spring 2014 classes start in late January or early February, and we'll have details on what's coming soon.)

As I work with other Institute leaders to try and make our classes continually better, one of the things we do at the end of each course is have adults fill out class evaluations.  This helps us know how we can both (1) improve individual classes and (2) enhance the overall Institute experience, as we help adults Dig Deep, Learn Good, and Launch Well.

The feedback this semester was overwhelmingly positive.  Here are four comments about each class that help reinforce the value of what we're doing:

The Christ, the Cross, & the Church: A Survey of the New Testament

  • "...I’ve read more of the Bible during this time than I did all year."
  • "The class has impacted me in many ways, but specifically it has helped me see more of the richness in Scripture.  I loved to be able to connect different parts of the Bible to see the picture God intended for me to see.  Even though it was a survey I saw depth and richness."
  • "Great overview of NT.  Created a heart change and challenge to evangelize."
  • "Chose class to gain better understanding of NT and learn about letters seldom preached on.  Expectations met and exceeded."

Fuel for Faith: An Important Class about Christian Theology

  • "Great way to dig deeper into the Word and an understanding of my faith that I can answer/teach to my children and others."
  • "This material is indispensable to every believer regardless of their journey and maturity."
  • "Though I’ve known the Lord many years, it’s still refreshing and challenging to be able to learn more about Him.  At times I was even startled by a new way of looking at Him and the Word.  Thanks.  Really appreciate Grudem’s book [Bible Doctrine] - purchased a copy for a friend and planning to do so for another."
  • "Knowledgeable teachers were passionate about the subject."
